Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar-Surajo Imam becomes the first Nigerian Army officer to be named a Professor by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
Imam is now a Professor of Mechatronics Engineering.
Brigadier General A.M Tukur, the NDA Registrar, announced Imam’s promotion, approved during the September NDA Council Meeting, effective from October 1, 2022.
The Council’s decision reflects confidence in Imam’s contributions to the Mechatronics Engineering Department.
The new professor from Kankia, Katsina State, holds degrees from Bayero University and Newcastle University.
Imam joined the Nigerian Army through Short Service Combatant Course 32, later converting to Regular Commission.
He served in various units, including 1 Base Workshop and Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON).
The new professor is also an Examiner and Member of the Central Selection Committee for Master’s and PhD candidates sponsored by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
