Based on the report released on Friday it appears that Joseph Boakai, a political veteran is currently ahead, in the race for the Liberian presidency albeit with a narrow margin over the incumbent George Weah.
After tallying votes from over 99.5% of the polling stations Boakai has managed to secure 50.89% of the votes while Weah stands at 49.11%.
However, there have been suspensions in announcing the results from 25 polling stations. There are still some votes left to be counted whose exact number remains unknown.
Despite this element of uncertainty political expert Abdullah Kiatamba has expressed skepticism, about Weahs ability to close the gap and surpass Boakais lead.
