Clash Between Boko Haram and ISWAP Leaves 60 Fighters Dead In Borno

A renewed conflict in Borno State reportedly resulted in the death of at least 60 fighters from Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) groups.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared the information on his X page on Saturday, November 18, highlighting the heavy fighting at Tumbum Ali Island in Marte Local Government Area.

Freshreporters News learned that clash occurred as a retaliation for the significant killing of ISWAP fighters by the Buduma factions, which had taken control of many of their hideouts.

Intelligence sources informed Makama that six boats of the Boko Haram faction and four ISWAP boats, all filled with fighters, were destroyed.
