ISWAP Bans Farming, Fishing In Marte, Borno State Following Heavy Losses

The Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorist group has reportedly issued a ban on all farmers, fishermen, and herders within its areas of presence in the North East of Marte, Borno State.

The ban comes after the group accused them of spying on their activities for the Nigerian military. The decision was made in response to the relentless airstrikes coordinated by the Nigerian military, which resulted in heavy losses for the terrorist organization.

Recent airstrikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai have dealt significant blows to ISWAP. The strikes targeted identified hideouts in Marte, leading to the elimination of top ISWAP commanders, numerous foot soldiers, and the destruction of their logistics, including a VBIED factory and vehicles. The airstrikes have also disrupted the group’s activities and forced them to relocate from their camps to safer locations.

Zagazola Makama, a reliable source on the ground, has shared intelligence regarding the devastating impacts of these airstrikes. Multiple strikes in Grazah, Wa-Jahode, Jibularam, and Sabon Tumbum resulted in the obliteration of over 100 terrorists, including two ISWAP commanders, Amir Malam Bello and Amir Malam Musa Modu, along with their fighters. Airstrikes in Kwalaram, Bukar Mairam, Abbaganaram, and Yarwa Kura eliminated scores of fighters and forced others to flee with injuries.

In another operation, the Nigerian Air Force deployed its firepower after identifying a convergence of Boko Haram terrorists in AMCHILLE in GEIZUWA.

The subsequent airstrike killed several fighters and destroyed their vehicle during a daring night operation. Furthermore, airstrikes targeted fleeing ISWAP terrorists in Andakar, Musari, and Klabariya in Marte, resulting in their elimination.

The most recent successful airstrike took place on July 6 at Tumbum SHITTU, where a significant number of insurgents were neutralized.

These effective offensives have forced the terrorists to divide into five smaller camps within Marte in order to avoid mass gatherings. They now only converge at a location referred to as “LARGE” when coordination for attacks is required.

The Nigerian military’s relentless airstrikes have proven to be a significant blow to ISWAP, weakening the terrorist group’s capabilities and forcing them to change their tactics. The military’s continued efforts demonstrate their commitment to combating terrorism in the region and ensuring the safety and security of the local population.
