Woman Arrested for Allegedly Pouring Hot Water On Another Woman In Ondo State

In a shocking incident in Idanre, Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, a woman named Esther Godwin has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command. She is accused of pouring hot water on another woman, Endurance Samuel, whom she suspected of having an affair with her husband.

According to sources in the community, Esther, a 39-year-old food vendor, invited Endurance to her shop under the pretense of collecting palm oil that her husband owed her. However, upon arriving at the shop, Esther allegedly attacked her with hot water.

Endurance, who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, denied having any romantic involvement with Esther’s husband. She explained that she worked as a laborer for Esther’s husband on the farm.

ÀEndurance stated, “Esther called me from where I was learning tailoring to come and collect the palm oil her husband is owing me. I also work as a laborer for her husband and some other farmers in the town. I rushed out of my oga’s shop excitedly, not knowing that the call was just to lure me to her shop where she was selling food, to pour hot water on me for the offense I did not commit.”

Esther’s husband, Godwin, also denied having any affair with Endurance, asserting that he had only employed her as a laborer on his farm. He mentioned that he has been responsible for the victim’s medical expenses since the incident occurred.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed that the suspect has been charged and the matter is now in court. She stated, “The suspect has been charged to court. She is not with us.”
