The Nigerian Army’s persistent assault to destroy terrorists’ strongholds in the Timbuktu Triangle, cutting across Borno and Yobe States, has resulted in the successful recovery of valuable assets and the release of women and children that the terrorists had been holding captive.
Following intense air and artillery bombardment and ground combat, the terrorists abandoned their enclaves and escaped, leaving behind a tractor, a canter truck, and an armored personnel carrier known as MOWAG.
The brave soldiers also saved 44 people, including women and children, who had been kidnapped in the vicinity.
The rescued women and children received immediate assistance, including new clothes to give them a feeling of comfort and dignity. The Borno State Ministry of Women Affairs has been entrusted with their administration. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
