The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, was summoned to appear before the Kogi Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja on Monday.
According to NAN, the governor is to appear to give some explanations on the role of the apex bank in the November 11, 2023, off-cycle election in Kogi.
The Director of Corporate Service at the CBN was also threatened with the big stick by the three-judge panel, which was presided over by Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu.
The event happened as a result of an application made by Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo’s attorney, Alex Izinyon, SAN. Kogi State was the second respondent in the petition that was filed by Social Democratic Party, SDP, governorship candidate. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
