A human trafficker was successfully caught in Lagos by troops of the 65 Bn Nigerian Army (NA), who were operating under the 81 Division NA.
Mrs. Olushola Areke was taken into custody in relation to human trafficking after actionable intelligence was obtained.
It was learned that 22-year-old daughter of Mrs. Ainor Kunle, Miss Fayoke Kunle, was allegedly abducted by the suspect.
Mrs. Kunle stated that she had willingly given her daughter over to the suspect, who had assured her that he would get the little girl a job in Oshodi, Lagos. But rather of going to Oshodi as agreed upon, the suspect transferred Miss Kunle to Kano, where the victim subsequently found herself and heard rumors that she was being sent to Libya. On April 23, 2024, Miss Kunle bravely escaped from her captivity and made her way back home.
Troops contacted Mrs. Areke in response to this concerning tip, and she was later taken into custody at the agreed-upon meeting place, where she was going to pick up her alleged additional victims.
The Ajah Police Command in Lagos has received both the suspect and the victim for additional investigation. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
