Tobi Amusan Finally Cleared from Doping Allegations

Sprinter Tobi Amusan A.K.A Tobi express has been given the green light by World Athletics to participate in the upcoming world championship in Budapest, Hungary.

In an announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) confirmed that Amusan “did not commit an anti-doping rule violation.”

The AIU Head, Brett Clothier, mentioned that the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) is disappointed by this decision and will carefully review the reasoning before deciding whether to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within the given timeframe. The details of the decision are currently confidential but will be made public in due course.

Amusan had faced provisional suspension from the AIU due to missing three drug tests, but she chose to challenge the accusation.

Last year in Oregon, USA, the 26-year-old made history with an impressive performance. She achieved a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the semi-final and followed it up with a wind-assisted 12.06 seconds (+2.5m/s) in the final, securing the gold medal.

Among her achievements, the World Championships is the only competition Amusan has not yet had the chance to defend.

She has successfully defended her titles in Nigeria, African Championships, African Games, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League.
