Tinubu running govt of exclusion, behaving like dictator – APC Ex-Vice Chair

Salihu Mohammed Lukman, erstwhile member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC), has dropped a bombshell against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he compared to acting like a military dictator.

Lukman, a one-time National Vice Chairman (North West) of the APC, accused Buhari of “self-approach to his governing and the fatal consequences it may portend for his and future generations of the party”.

In the same statement he issued on Saturday, Lukman said of President Tinubu that he was sidelining the party structures on a ride that could suggest he had all the solutions to the riddles confronting Nigeria.

In Lukman’s views, this route is causing so much harm to the polity and undermining the democratic ethos on which the APC is based.

He said, making reference to the current urgent security and socio-economic challenges of the country, cautioning that this could pose dangers for President Tinubu winning his second term and possibly bring down the APC in the 2027 elections.

He has hinted that present levels of poverty, insecurity, hunger, and high prices in the cost of goods and services are clear evidence that the APC and its leadership have failed to deliver on the promise they made to the Nigerian people. For Lukman, the loss is on both former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Tinubu himself, as he lacks the capacity to rise to meet up with the ideal qualities that must characterize the kind of values and manifesto of the party.

He said that the challenges which Nigerians have faced since 2013 after APC’s merging are clear opposite.. . to the aspirations and promises of the party.

Lukman canvassed that such policies in the administration have further aggravated the misery of the citizens and have failed to pay attention to critical matters in the country…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>

Lukman, in his words, said: “What Nigerians are having today wasn’t what was promised at all. The most disturbing reality is that the current economic hardship is produced during the first term of President Asiwaju Tinubu, with no end in sight. Does it then mean that President Asiwaju Tinubu is not interested in second term? Certainly not.

“If he is interested in second term, why is he managing affairs of government like a military dictator, shutting down the structures of the party and talking down to citizens like a philosopher king who has absolute knowledge of what will produce possible happiness for citizens?

“Unless the objective is to secure second term by other means and not votes of electorate, there can not be any logical reasoning. Could that be the reason for the newfound love with some identified political merceneries who were strongly opposed to the election of President Asiwaju Tinubu? How successful could they be?

“If military governments with all their recruited merceneries could fail to guarantee their survival how could anyone imagine that merceneries could win second term for the President Asiwaju?”

Lukman said one of the arguments being canvassed by many disappointed APC members was that both former President Buhari and Tinubu just wanted to win election and become Presidents of Nigeria.

He added, “Once they achieved that, any other thing with respect to good government and policy orientation is hardly a priority. Impliedly, this means that the whole merger exercise producing the APC was a deception. Rightly or wrongly, many APC leaders and members have come to accept this explanation as the main objective for the merger.”
