Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, received a strong warning from the All Progressives Congress (APC) National leadership not to interfere with the party’s operations by running for National Chairman.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, stated this during a speech at the party’s National Secretariat.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, the party’s spokesperson stated that it is inappropriate to apply for the position in the absence of a vacancy.
Posters depicting Yahaya Bello contesting to lead the ruling party were found in various parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) less than 48 hours after he completed his two terms as governor of Kogi State.
Yahaya Bello may have gained influence as a result of the uneasy silence from some North Central geopolitical zone stakeholders on the rise of Abdullahi Ganduje from Kano State, North-West Nigeria, to replace Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa State as the APC’s National Chairman. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
