Pastor Chris Okafor has publicly described his harrowing 58-day kidnapping as a divinely protected “near-death” experience. Addressing his congregation, the cleric gave a chilling account of the violent attack.

“They were sh00ting sporadically; it was like a war zone situation,” Pastor Okafor recounted. “They sh0t and sh0t, but not a single bullet penetrated my body because I’m too surrounded to surrender. For greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”

He detailed the grim conditions of his captivity, revealing he was held blindfolded and chained, wearing only a pair of boxers. The pastor stated that his captors forced him and a fellow hostage, the former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, into the trunk of an SUV on three separate occasions to attack police stations.

“Three times they carried us… to go and attack police in their station. Three times they were exchanging fire, and we were there chained and blindfolded,” he said.
