Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland. The installation ceremony was held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town, presided over by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I.
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, lauded the honor as merited. He commended Seyi Tinubu for his impact on youth and his philanthropic work, stressing that the title carries significant responsibility. “This is not just a traditional title; it is a call to service and recognition of leadership potential,” Ogundoyin stated, noting it embodies core Yoruba values such as excellence, community service, and legacy-building.
The event has attracted notable public interest, partly due to a recent private meeting between Seyi Tinubu, Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun Williams, and social media personality Alapini. This meeting, occurring five months after Alapini’s viral emotional outcry, has sparked considerable discussion online.
The installation solidifies Seyi Tinubu’s expanding role in leadership and community engagement within Yorubaland, marking a pivotal moment in his growing public and social influence.
