Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Igboho, a prominent Yoruba nationalistic activist has called upon traditional rulers in the Southwest to unite with him and eliminate criminality and banditry from their area.
Igboho pledged to work with traditional leaders to permanently eradicate insecurity in the Southwest.
He signed a statement expressing his lamentations about how insecurity was the root cause of both death and farmer-herder conflicts within the region.
“I welcome the idea, and assure them that I will do my best to checkmate incidence of insecurity provided I receive the backing of the relevant security agencies, Yoruba monarchs and other stakeholders.
“Insecurity and threats precipitated by banditry, herders/farmers clashes, leading to deaths and massive destruction of farmlands have driven away farmers and agric entrepreneurs from farm settlements in Yorubaland.
“We need to flush out criminal elements, who have occupied our forests using the place as launch pads to jeopardize the peace in our communities, towns, villages and amulets. I am ready to lend my support in this regard,” he said…[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>
