Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has downplayed reports of a confrontation with teammate Victor Osimhen during Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations match against Mozambique. He described the on-pitch exchange as nothing more than a regular discussion between players.
Following the game, Lookman reflected positively on the tournament, stating the team is improving daily and highlighting his own goal-scoring contribution. When questioned if he had spoken to Osimhen after the incident, he replied, “No, I haven’t seen him yet.”
He further clarified, “Nothing happened. We were just discussing on the pitch, that’s it.” Lookman expressed confusion over the attention the moment received, saying, “I don’t know what the big issue is.”
Looking forward, the forward emphasized the team’s focus on the next challenge, stating, “Another big battle awaits us, we need to be ready.”
