Singer Cher, 79, Reportedly to Marry Boyfriend Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 39, Before 80th Birthday

Iconic singer Cher is reportedly planning to marry her boyfriend, music executive Alexander “AE” Edwards, ahead of her 80th birthday in May, nearly 50 years after her second marriage ended. A source told The Mirror that Cher “doesn’t care about their 40-year age difference” and views the milestone birthday as an ideal time to formalize their relationship. However, Cher’s representative has denied the report to Page Six, stating it is “not true.”

The singer previously addressed criticism over the age gap in a November interview, telling Gayle King, “Whatever… they’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.” She noted that Edwards similarly sees no issue with the age difference, adding, “You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.”

Cher spoke warmly of their three-year relationship, describing how they “laugh all the time” and praising Edwards as “beautiful” and “one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.” The couple went public in November 2022 and made their red-carpet debut at the Versace Fall 2023 fashion show, displaying affection upon arrival.
