Today (Saturday), the Nigerian Senate is all set to conduct the screening of the final group of ministerial nominees forwarded by President Bola Tinubu.
The Red Chamber will also proceed with the confirmation of all 48 nominees during an emergency plenary.
Originally, the upper legislative Chamber was scheduled to begin its long holiday at the end of July 2023.
However, they decided to postpone the recess to ensure that the screening and confirmation of the ministerial nominees are completed before the annual break, FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA reports.
The Order Paper for today’s plenary outlines the list of nominees slated for screening, including Lola Ade-John (Lagos), Bosun Tijani (Ogun), Dr. Isiak Salako (Ogun), Dr. Tahir Mamman (Adamawa), Uba Maigari Ahmadu (Taraba), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud (Kano), and Festus Keyamo (Delta).

FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA recalls President Tinubu had previously submitted a list of 28 ministerial nominees. On Wednesday, he sent an additional list of 19 nominees, making up the complete group of 48 names up for confirmation.
