Cristiano Ronaldo was once again taunted with Lionel Messi chants during Al-Nassr’s clash with Al-Ain on Monday night.
The Portugal attacker was allegedly called by Saudi Pro League officials just last week to clarify a gesture he made toward fans who were chanting Messi’s name at him.
During their AFC Champions League quarterfinal match, fans again targeted the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, indicating that they will not stop making fun of him.
The crowd’s cry of “Messi, Messi” during halftime of their match could be heard as Ronaldo was leaving the field, clearly directed at the Al-Nassr star.
Ronaldo appeared to be quite irritated in a video that surfaced on X, then known as Twitter, as he shook his head and moved through the tunnel.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player was on the losing side after Soufiane Rahimi’s goal in the first half, even though he played the entire ninety minutes of the game.
The incident at Al-Ain is simply one more instance of Saudi Arabian supporters making fun of the forward by yelling insults about his fierce opponent, which also happened last week. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
