American rapper and YouTuber DDG has stated that he feels significantly safer in Nigeria than in the United States, citing the strong sense of community he finds there.
Reflecting on his experiences, he acknowledged that theft can occur in Nigeria but framed it differently, suggesting it’s often driven by necessity rather than malice. “Out here everyone is one, I feel way safer… I might get robbed, but it’s not out of hate, it’s out of need… people will rob you in the U.S. out of hate,” DDG explained.
He added that his time in Nigeria has given him a deep appreciation for the unity and friendliness he encounters, which he contrasts with the social dynamics he has observed back home.
