President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to Senator George Akume, officially appointing him as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The event, which took place in the Council Chambers, was attended by prominent dignitaries, including current and former Governors.
At approximately 11:06 am, amidst an atmosphere of anticipation, Senator Akume solemnly took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office, signifying his commitment and dedication to serving the nation.
President Tinubu, accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and other distinguished guests, officiated the ceremony.
