The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appealed to both Nyesom Wike, the former Rivers State Governor, and his successor, Siminalayi Fubara, to put an end to their conflicts.
This request was made public in a statement released on Tuesday by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in response to the attempt by the Rivers State Assembly to impeach the current governor.
Allegations have arisen that Nyesom Wike, now serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, is orchestrating a plot to remove the governor through impeachment, resulting in unrest within the state.
Involving itself in the situation, the PDP’s NWC has encouraged all parties involved in the dispute to seek a peaceful and harmonious resolution to their disagreements.
The party has also affirmed that it has initiated procedures to address the conflict through its internal conflict resolution mechanisms.
