Nigeria Records Zero Piracy Cases in Five Years — Chief of Naval Staff

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has said that Nigeria did not recorded any piracy incident in the nation’s waterways for the past five years.

He attributed the feat to sustained naval operations, surveillance systems, and constant patrols across critical maritime zones.

Speaking at the passing out parade of the 2025 set of Young Sailors in Ikot Ntuen, Akwa Ibom State, Ogalla, represented by Rear Admiral Gabriel Aligwe, noted that operations such as Delta Sanity and the deployment of naval ships at sea have ensured safety along the country’s coastlines.

He urged the graduating sailors to remain disciplined and focused as they begin their military careers.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, represented at the event, also advised them to shun vices and uphold values that would strengthen both their personal growth and national service.
