Manchester United’s chaotic season took another twist for the worse in a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Bournemouth’s excellent form persisted as the Cherries secured their inaugural triumph at Old Trafford stylishly on a day United’s season reached a fresh nadir.
Erik ten Hag‘s squad had ascended to sixth thanks to six victories in eight Premier League matches.
However, a dismal performance placed the Dutchman’s position back under scrutiny ahead of an expected departure from the Champions League at the group stage in midweek.
Dominic Solanke put Bournemouth ahead after merely five minutes when he converted Lewis Cook’s delivery.
Solanke struck the post, and Antoine Semenyo came close as Bournemouth continued to enjoy superior chances.
Yet, they had to wait until the 68th minute to increase their advantage when Philip Billing elevated to score from Marcus Tavernier’s delivery.
