Man Arrested For Allegedly Sodomizing 9-Year-Old Boy In Jigawa State

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa Command have arrested Isyaku Lawal (Dan Babani), a 23-year-old laborer from Chiromari village, Malam Madori LGA.

The arrest was made in connection with the alleged sodomization of a nine-year-old boy (name withheld), according to the Command Public Relations Officer, Adamu Shehu.

The arrest followed a complaint filed by the father of the victim, who was informed by his daughter, the elder sister of the victim, about the sexual abuse. The victim recounted that the suspect took him to a secluded area in the evening while he was playing with his friends. The suspect then removed the boy’s trousers and engaged in sexual intercourse with him.

Furthermore, the suspect urged the victim not to disclose the incident to anyone and promised to buy him sweets. However, the promise was not fulfilled, leading the victim to confide in his sister.

Medical examinations conducted at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at General Hospital Dutse revealed evidence of repeated rectal penetrations and bruises in the anal area, further supporting the victim’s account.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. The NSCDC will proceed to charge him to a court of competent jurisdiction in order to ensure swift justice is served.
