Late Singer’s Son Bars Father from Her Bûrial, Cites Abandonment

At the funeral ceremony of singer Omije Ojumi (Bunmi Akinnaanu), her son publicly refused his father entry, accusing him of abandoning the family during his mother’s most difficult times.

The son described the period of his mother’s suffering as profoundly painful, stating that his father’s absence left deep and lasting emotional wounds. This long-held resentment over what he characterised as severe neglect culminated in the decision to exclude his father from the burial proceedings.
