Security operatives in Kwara State have arrested the state president of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Idris Abubakar, and two other senior officials on suspicion of supporting kidnapping and banditry.
The three suspects, all said to be above 60 years of age, are accused of facilitating abductions and offering logistical and financial assistance to networks of armed Fulani criminals.
Preliminary investigations indicate an active collaboration between the detained leaders and the armed gangs responsible for numerous kidnappings in local communities and along major roads.
Military and police forces are conducting coordinated operations in known bandit enclaves to dismantle their bases and improve security. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further accomplices.
