The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed her aspiration to be a tangible example and mentor for young girls, highlighting a perceived decline in admirable public figures for them to emulate.
She made these remarks on Thursday during the inauguration of the “Sen. Oluremi Tinubu Dream Centre” at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State. “For a long time, I have held the thought that I should serve as a case study for young girls,” she stated. “We consistently advocate for the girl child, yet genuine role models seem increasingly scarce today.”
Senator Tinubu urged young women to nurture positive ambitions, sharing her own childhood dream. “From a very young age, much like the two girls who welcomed me here today, I knew I wanted to become a teacher and I ultimately achieved that goal,” she recounted.
