There was a reported outbreak of measles in certain parts of the Kano Municipal local government and has been verified by authorities.
During a meeting held at the local government secretariat by the emergency aid committee, Aliyu Jinjiri Kiru, who is in charge of primary health care in the area revealed this information.
The president communicated, through a statement signed by the local government information officer, Fatima Abdullahi, that multiple health centers in the area have reported outbreaks of measles and other contagious illnesses.
According to Aliyu, the areas suspected of an outbreak comprise Sharada, Madatai, and Onion Gardens.
He urged for prompt measures to manage the disease.
