Governor Umah Namadi of Jigawa State has confirmed that 181 people lost their lives in the tragic tanker explosion, with another 80 clinging to life in critical condition at the hospital.
While at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, Namadi gave President Bola Tinubu the full rundown. “The situation as at today is that we have about 181 people that died and about 80 people in the hospital and about 210 families affected by this,” Namadi said to reporters outside the State House.

Namadi reassured that the state government has taken over all the medical bills for the survivors. “We have done a lot of intervention to the families, to ensure that they continue their livelihood,” he noted, adding that Tinubu has also promised to assist the victims.
