Alhaji Mohammed Idris-Malagi, the Minister-designate of Information and National Orientation, has affirmed that he shares an excellent rapport with Governor Umar Bago of Niger State, contrary to circulating speculations suggesting otherwise.

Idris-Malagi clarified this on Saturday during a courtesy visit he paid to Bago at the Niger Lodge in Abuja.

The minister-designate expressed that his visit was a gesture of gratitude towards Bago for his consistent support in realizing his goals and aspirations.

He stated, “Myself and the governor are fully committed to bringing things that will bring development to the people to move the state to greater heights.”

“We will both continue to collaborate to fast track development to the people of the state for it to move forward.”

Idris-Malagi also offered prayers for the governor’s successful implementation of his programs and policies, fostering the state’s rapid advancement.

The purpose of the visit, as described by the minister-designate, was to formally inform the governor of his new appointment and to showcase his readiness for the role, while seeking continued support.

“We will continue to collaborate with Gov. Umar Bago to ensure the development of the state in the overall interest of the citizens,” Idris-Malagi assured.

Bago congratulated the minister-designate and assured him of his full support in his new role.

He urged him to leverage his position to attract more federal presence to the state, dispelling any notion of a strained relationship between them.

Bago emphasized, “This visit will put to rest the much-discussed political differences within the APC in the state and present a united front.”
