Here’s Why I Didn’t Disappear When Kidnappers Invaded My Home – Anambra Native Doctor Reveals

A well-known native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, also known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki” from Anambra, has recently revealed that he could have prevented his own abduction but chose not to do so.

Nwangwu, who was abducted last Sunday and later released on Saturday morning, shared the harrowing details of his ordeal. He explained that he voluntarily surrendered to his captors in order to avoid further bloodshed, as his two bodyguards were tragically killed during the incident.

Recalling the events, Nwangwu stated, “I was at home when I received a call around 11:30 am, informing me that some individuals were at my hotel spending money, nearly N300,000. They requested my presence, and without any companions, I drove to the hotel in my new car. Shortly after my arrival, chaos ensued as gunshots were fired, causing panic among the people. I went out to assess the situation, and that’s when the people began shooting at me.”

He further disclosed, “Two of my security men lost their lives. I don’t want to reveal too much at this time, but I believe that there are two ways to escape such a situation – relying on charms or having money. Those with charms must also have money. The kidnappers took me in their car, and though I had the option to flee, I witnessed the casualties and chose to stay to prevent more bloodshed. If I had left, many others could have been killed.”

Nwangwu also shed light on the possible motive behind the abduction, stating, “The root cause seems to be related to the ongoing sit-at-home protests. They mentioned the names of potential targets for abduction, but I cannot disclose them now. Tragically, I witnessed the killing of about 20 people in front of me. I want to clarify that I did not embezzle anyone’s money; the kidnappers targeted individuals they perceived to be wealthy. They had plans to kidnap around 50 people from my hotel that day, but I decided to cooperate with them.”
