Srushti Sudhir Jagtap, one 16-year-old girl, from India has broken the record for the longest dance marathon by an individual, with a time of 127 hours in India, surpassing the existing record of 126 hours by Nepalese dancer, Bandana Nepal, in the year 2018.
According to the official statement issued out Guinness World Record Official Adjudicator, Swapnil Dangarikar, the dance marathon was held in her school auditorium, filled with supporters and her parents weeks back.

The new record owner started the marathon dance on Monday, 29th of May, 2023 and ended in the afternoon of Saturday, 3rd of June, 2023.
In a statement issued out by GWR on Wednesday, recognised dancing style must be done to a just standard, and the participant’s feet must be moving to the music at all times to break the existing record.
The Indian Jagtap danced to the sound of the music in the Kathak style, one of the eight primary genres of Indian classical dance.
Freshreporters Media had also noted that the certified record owner spent about 15 months preparing for her record attempt. She was trained by her grandfather, Baban Mane.
Before she broke the record, Jagtap took her rest time mostly at midnight hours when she napped or talked to her parents.
