To commemorate Eid-el-Fitr, the Federal Government of Nigeria has designated Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays.
The development was disclosed in a statement posted on the official Twitter handle of the ministry of interior.
The statement said the Federal Government’s Minister of the Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunj-Ojo, congratulates the whole Muslim Ummah for successfully finishing the fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Mustim Ummman is urged by Dr. Tunji-Ojo to embody and put into practice the qualities that include compassion.
The statement added, “the qualities of compassion, love, tolerance, peace, and good neighborliness as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him). In order to better and attain peace and unity in the nation, he asked Nigerians to keep up the spirit of unity.
“The Minister wishes all Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration and prays that the peace, blessings and favour of Allah be with everyone and our Great Nation.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
