Edo Governor Gifts SUVs to Hard-Working Staff

In a move to reward exceptional commitment, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has presented brand new SUV vehicles to three dedicated staff members of the Government House and Protocol department.

The presentation ceremony was held on Thursday at the Government House in Benin City. Governor Okpebholo explained that the gesture was intended to motivate public servants who demonstrate outstanding diligence in their roles.

While handing over the keys, the Governor commended the recipients for their discipline and punctuality, noting he had personally observed their consistent habit of arriving early and leaving work late.

“Today, I deliberately let the day run late to see if you would leave early and miss this opportunity,” the Governor said. “But you stayed. It is your routine to come early and close late. I once saw you trekking briskly to get to the office on time, and I took note. I observe carefully. You deserve this reward, and I encourage you to keep up this excellent standard as we serve the people of Edo.”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mary Salami expressed profound gratitude, calling the gesture overwhelming. “I am so excited and lost for words,” she told journalists. “I am deeply thankful to His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo. I pray God blesses and prospers him, granting him the wisdom to always make the right decisions.”

The beneficiaries are Mary Salami and Sylvanus from the Protocol Department, and Mike Oshioshio from the ICT unit, all under the Government House Directorate.

This donation forms part of Governor Okpebholo’s initiative to foster a culture of excellence and dedication among Edo State’s public service workforce.
