According to Momodu, people considered Peter Obi to be a fresh and appealing candidate, which contributed to his success in those states. Responding to Seun’s question about whether Obi’s departure from the PDP led to Atiku’s loss in the 2019 presidential election, Dele Momodu pointed out that Obi was also Atiku’s running mate in 2019, yet they didn’t win the same number of states.
He emphasized that this is simple logic, questioning why Obi’s association with Atiku didn’t yield the same results back in 2019. Momodu dismissed the notion that Wike’s departure from the PDP affected the outcome, and he also highlighted the performances of other prominent figures like Seyi Makinde, gburugburu, and others in their respective states for different candidates.
