Cross River APC Targets 1.5 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State have set a goal to secure at least 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The commitment was made during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by Governor Bassey Otu at the Calabar International Convention Centre, with key party figures in attendance, including Minister Betta Edu, National Assembly members, the State Assembly Speaker, party executives, and representatives of women and youth groups.

Governor Otu urged the Federal Government to support the state’s push for the reclamation of its oil wells and restoration of its littoral status, calling for the use of technical data to validate Cross River’s claims as an oil-producing state.

He also appealed for increased federal appointments for indigenes of the state and reaffirmed Cross River’s support for the President’s policies, citing ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Calabar–Lagos Coastal Highway as evidence of federal commitment.

Minister Betta Edu encouraged sustained grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement ahead of the 2027 polls, expressing confidence that federal policies would yield tangible benefits for residents.

National Assembly members from the state also pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts across their constituencies to help meet the target.
