Chief Imam Of Uso Community Abducted In Ondo State

Ibrahim Bodunde-Oyinlade, the Chief Imam of Uso community, has been reportedly abducted by suspected gunmen. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon while the 67-year-old Imam was working on his farm at Asolo camp, according to a report from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Family members became concerned when Bodunde-Oyinlade did not return home by 2 pm, and their attempts to contact him on his mobile phone went unanswered. It was at this point that they notified the police about his disappearance.

A family member mentioned that the kidnappers have made contact with them but have not yet demanded any ransom for his release.

The state police spokesperson, Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident and stated that law enforcement officers and vigilantes have initiated a search operation in the forest area to locate and rescue the abducted chief Imam. At the farm where the incident took place, the victim’s car and mobile phone were discovered.

Odunlami-Omisanya revealed that the family reported the incident to the police station in Uso community around 6 pm. The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), along with police personnel and vigilante groups, are intensifying efforts to locate and rescue Ibrahim Bodunde-Oyinlade.

In a separate incident, on Wednesday, gunmen kidnapped Eyo Edet, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom. The abductors initially took Edet into a Toyota Sienna vehicle and later transferred him to a speedboat.
