Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is facing the possibility of a criminal trial after the Paris prosecutor’s office formally requested proceedings against him over rape allegations dating back to 2023.
The Moroccan international has consistently denied the accusations.
The case stems from a complaint filed by a young woman who alleged that Hakimi assaulted her at his home while his family was away.
French authorities launched an investigation, leading to his formal indictment in March 2023.
Despite being allowed to remain under judicial supervision, the legal process has now escalated significantly.
Under French law, if convicted, Hakimi could face up to 15 years in prison.
His legal team has reiterated his innocence, stating that all encounters were consensual and that they are confident in clearing his name in court.
