Atiku’s Lawsuit Against President Tinubu Dismissed by Chicago Court

The lawsuit seeking access to President Bola Tinubu‘s educational background from Chicago State University (CSU) has been withdrawn and subsequently dismissed by the court.

FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA reports that during the 2022 campaigns, Tinubu claimed to hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with honors from CSU.

However, doubts lingered despite Beverly Poindexter from CSU’s Office of the Registrar confirming Tinubu’s degree.

In response, Presidential candidate Atiku initiated a legal effort to obtain the educational records.

FRESHREPORTERS MEDIA gathered the report made by PUNCH News that just before the hearing, Atiku withdrew the lawsuit, leading Judge Patrick J. Heneghan to dismiss the case. With this decision, CSU’s involvement in the matter came to an end.

Victor Henderson, a renowned business litigation attorney in Chicago, acknowledged Tinubu as a respected CSU graduate and an influential figure in the United States.

In a press statement dated August 2, 2023, Henderson criticized Atiku and his followers for attempting to access the President’s confidential educational records through an improper lawsuit without following due process or directly requesting the President’s cooperation.

Henderson pointed out that the motive behind Atiku’s actions seemed to be to tarnish the President’s character and reputation and to challenge an election they had lost.

The positive news for President Tinubu and his supporters is that the court dismissed the improper lawsuit filed by Atiku in his bid to access the educational records.

Furthermore, a leading official from Chicago State University reaffirmed that President Tinubu is a distinguished alumnus of the university.
