Actor Djimon Hounsou’s Ex-Girlfriend Arrested for Alleged Assáult at Atlanta Home

Beninese-American actor Djimon Hounsou reportedly informed Atlanta police that his former girlfriend, Riza Simpson, punched him in the face after he requested she leave his Atlanta townhouse. The couple, who share two children, had their kids upstairs at the time of the incident, Hounsou stated.

Police indicated the children did not witness the alleged assault but may have heard it occur. Hounsou filed a complaint in December, leading to an arrest warrant that was executed on Friday at the same residence, where Simpson was taken into custody.

Simpson was charged with simple assault and obstruction both misdemeanors after authorities say she gave false information during the encounter. She was reportedly with the children at the time of her arrest, and officers noted hearing the children crying in the background when they knocked.
