In a shocking incident, Goldsboro police are conducting an investigation after the discovery of a deceased woman in a neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred on Beale Street in the 200 block, was reported to authorities shortly after 3:45 p.m., according to a news release from the Goldsboro Police Department.
Upon receiving the call, Wayne County EMS also arrived at the scene, where they found an unresponsive woman.
The police identified the deceased as Semiko Woods, a 41-year-old resident of Goldsboro. Details regarding whether Woods was discovered inside a residence or outdoors have not been disclosed by the authorities.
The news release stated that the investigation is still in its early stages, and as such, no additional information will be released at this time.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau, in conjunction with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), promptly responded to the scene to initiate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
