Young Man, Bonaventure Nwodo, Reportedly Sh0t Dêad During Protests In Enugu

Enugu state was left in shock and mourning as a young man identified as Bonaventure Nwodo, affectionately known as Bona, was tragically shot dead during a protest. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

According to eyewitnesses familiar with the incident, Bona had spent over six years in Dubai, but in January 2023, he returned to Nigeria with dreams of starting anew and making a positive impact in his homeland. He had set up a phone accessory shop in Ogbete Enugu.

However, tension arose in Ogbete main market after the Enugu state government forcibly sealed his shop, along with others, for choosing not to open their businesses on Monday, July 24, 2023.

It was gathered that the closure was in response to the IPOB Monday Sit-at-home, which called for a peaceful protest.

Tragically, what started as a peaceful demonstration soon took a devastating turn when Bona lost his life due to a bullet allegedly fired by the Nigeria Police Force during the protest (CONTINUE READING HERE).
