In a shocking turn of events, a woman identified as Nnaemaka Nwosu has been accused of setting a policewoman and her two children ablaze in Nnokwa community, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The horrifying incident took place on Sunday, sending shockwaves throughout the region.
According to reports, the suspect, a resident of Amawbia, had recently gone through a divorce and found herself homeless and desperate for accommodation. It was during this time that she sought help from the policewoman, who kindly offered her a place to stay in her apartment.
Unfortunately, trouble arose when a disagreement between the suspect and the policewoman escalated into a physical altercation.
Witnesses say the suspect attacked the policewoman, striking her repeatedly with a pestle until she fell unconscious.
Following this brutal assault, the suspect reportedly tied the policewoman and her two children together using rope within their room.
In a horrifying act, she set the room ablaze, trapping the victims inside. Tragically, the policewoman and her children were unable to escape the flames and suffered severe burns.
Local vigilante operatives and villagers, drawn by the commotion and the blaze, swiftly intervened and managed to apprehend the suspect as she attempted to flee the area.
Initially, the suspect claimed that the incident occurred due to a gas cylinder explosion while the victims were boiling water. However, she later confessed to the heinous crime, providing details about how she executed the act.
