Woman survives on candy and wine after being lost in the wilderness for 5 days

An Australian woman, identified only as Lillian, has been found alive after being stranded in bushland for five days. Lillian had been on a short trip to Bright, Australia when she took a wrong turn and became stuck in mud with no mobile phone coverage.

She survived on candy and a bottle of wine she had purchased as a gift for her mother, and used the heater in her car for warmth overnight.

When Lillian did not check in with her loved ones on April 30, authorities were alerted and a search began.

The police Air Wing eventually spotted her car at the end of a dirt road in Mitta Mitta bushland.

Lillian was found a good 60km away from the nearest town, but had used her common sense to stay with her car and not wander into the bush.

She was treated for dehydration and is expected to fully recover.
