Why I Dumped Labour Party For PDP — Edo Dep Gov (Video)

Omobayo Godwins, the new Deputy Governor of Edo State, claims he left the Labour Party (LP) in favor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because of the latter’s assurances of a successful political future for him.

The 37-year-old who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today show took office as deputy governor of Edo on Monday after Philip Shaibu was impeached by the state parliament.

Godwins claims that he quit the Labour Party in order to back PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo, who is running for governor of Edo.

Godwins said the Labour Party has changed entirely from what it used to be during the 2023 polls when he was lost the poll for the Federal House of Representatives seat for the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency.
