Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has disclosed details of a recent meeting with his estranged political protégé, Siminalayi Fubara, who approached him to seek peace.
Wike confirmed that Fubara, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, visited him alongside two governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to initiate reconciliation efforts.
Speaking during a media briefing on Monday, Wike stated that he told Fubara he lacked the genuine capacity to foster peace, accusing him of sending mixed signals.
According to Wike, it is contradictory for Fubara to seek peace while his allies continue to act in ways that fuel the ongoing crisis.
“I told him (Fubara) I don’t think you have the capacity to make this peace. It’s not easy; if you’re making peace, your people are demonstrating every day.
