The co-founder and CEO of The Transhuman Coin (THC), Dr. Charles Awuzie, has emphasized the potential of longevity science to extend human lifespans significantly. He envisions that by 2045, death by natural causes may become optional, allowing humans to live beyond 150 years.

Dr. Awuzie, a Nigerian South African-based techpreneur and biochemist, made these assertions during the launch of Gemsbok Group’s new generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbox named GemsbokGPT. The Transhuman Coin is a cryptocurrency focused on merging biotechnology with blockchain technology to advance medical and biotechnology research.

Dr. Awuzie highlighted that THC’s scientific advisory board, led by Professor Avinash Singh, a renowned brain-machine-interface expert from the University of Technology, Sydney, is guiding the team. Additionally, THC has invested in a robotic AI-powered wheelchair, which was even tested by Melinda Gates of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Having been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases in 2021, Dr. Awuzie expressed the need for a blockchain ledger storing genetic data to enable earlier detection and understanding of genetic conditions. He confidently stated, “We will solve death by 2045. Death will become optional.”

To facilitate research in this field, THC has partnered with the South African Medical Research Council and Itheum to develop and maintain a blockchain ledger storing genetic and health data. Owners of this data will receive incentives whenever it is used for research, providing economic relief, particularly for those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Dr. Awuzie further revealed his intentions to establish longevity clinics across Africa, invest in age-reversal solutions, and promote a healthy and extended lifespan in the THC community.
