The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has declared that it no longer recognizes the print-out being presented by Anambra candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme, as her legitimate result for the 2021 examination. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, reiterated the board’s stance that the UTME result displayed by Ejikeme, identified as “Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma,” is undeniably fake.
In an official statement released on Tuesday morning, JAMB emphasized that out of all the candidates who took the 2023 UTME, Mmesoma was the sole individual to present an outdated “notification slip.” Benjamin assured Nigerians that JAMB’s system had neither been tampered with nor compromised, as Ejikeme had simply falsified a copy of a result slip belonging to a candidate named “Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle.” This candidate had sat for the UTME in 2021, achieving a score of 138.
The spokesperson further highlighted that Mmesoma inadvertently revealed the actual owner of the result she was parading when she mentioned that the QR code on the result slip displayed the true owner’s information before attempting to distort the truth with her fabricated claims.
To ascertain the unquestionable position of the Board regarding this evident falsehood, the general public was urged to scan the QR code on the result slip to view its authentic owner before it was manipulated. The QR code encapsulates the UTME result of each candidate, implying that the information on the result sheet is nothing more than an interpretation of the data contained in the QR code.
Additionally, it was emphasized that JAMB ceased issuing Notification of Result slips after the 2021 UTME due to widespread falsification by candidates. Consequently, since 2022, the Board has been providing actual UTME RESULT Slips, complete with the candidate’s photograph. The public was urged to consider this fact.
It was also noted that only Ms. Ejikeme Mmesoma paraded the obsolete “Notification of Result” among all the candidates who participated in the 2023 UTME.
In light of the severe violation committed by Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme, and in accordance with JAMB’s established procedures, the Board has nullified her 2023 UTME result and barred her from taking any of the Board’s examinations for the next three years.
