Chief Silas Onyim, the President General of the Umuoji community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, was assassinated on Friday by suspected gunmen who entered into his home.
The village leader, also referred to as Chief Sly, was later found in his bathroom, nude in a pool of his own blood, inside a bathtub.
As of the time this report was submitted, the specifics surrounding his murder were still hazy.
Anambra State police acknowledged the crime and stated that the command was collaborating with the community to identify the killers.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, a spokesman for the State Police Command, announced that the deceased community leader’s body had been found.
He said;
“Yes, I’m aware of the incident. The command immediately sent operatives there, and the body of the PG has been retrieved.
“We are working with locals to identify the perpetrators of the act, in order to bring them to book. Calm has also been restored in the area.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
