A 61-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested in the United States for allegedly sexually abusing patients at a nursing home in California.
The suspect, Kayode Agbolade Ogunba, worked as a certified nursing assistant in Goleta, Santa Barbara County. An investigation was launched in early November 2025 after the care facility reported that two patients under his care had been assaulted.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Ogunba had previously been implicated in similar allegations in Los Angeles. Investigators believe he has also worked in other states, including Washington and Texas.
Ogunba was apprehended in Los Angeles on January 20, 2026, under a Santa Barbara County warrant. He faces multiple serious charges, including sexual penetration, lewd acts by a caretaker against a dependent person involving force, and elder abuse, alongside a misdemeanor count of sexual battery of a dependent adult.
Authorities noted that he may have used the alias “Kay.”
Ogunba is currently detained at the Santa Barbara County Main Jail, with bail set at $100,000.
